Yes, the card is exclusively for Costco members, so you must be a Costco member to apply. Go to Costco.ca to sign up to become a Costco member.

You can earn cash back virtually everywhere. You get 3% on restaurants, 2% on gas and 0.5% on the first $3,000 you spend annually on all other purchases, and 1% after that.

We’ll issue you a cash back coupon with your January statement, as long as your account is eligible when your annual cash back is calculated. Your account is eligible as long as it’s open and in good standing, which means that it’s not past due, fraudulent, restricted or part of a consumer credit counselling program or bankruptcy.
Once you receive your cash back coupon, you can redeem it at any Costco warehouse in Canada.

You can apply online at capitalone.ca/costco or at any Costco Wholesale warehouse in Canada.
You’ll need to have both your card and authentication code. Your authentication code is sent separately from the card for security reasons. You can then call us at 1-800-945-1000 to select a PIN. Your card will be activated once you’ve successfully selected a PIN.
For English, go to capitalone.ca/mycard, and for French, visit fr.capitalone.ca/macarte. Please have your card as you’ll need information that’s on it to sign up.
Paying online is the most convenient way to make payments on your account. You can pay through your financial institution’s online banking site, or with Auto Pay, our pre-authorized debit service available through Capital One’s online banking site. See below for online payment options available to you.
How to pay through your financial institution’s online banking site:

Log in to your bank’s online banking site.

Add “Capital One Mastercard” as a new payee to your payee list.

Make your payment to Capital One Mastercard.
Please note that it can take 2-3 business days for your online payment to post.
How to set up pre-authorized debit payments with Auto Pay:

Log in to Capital One Banking. Don’t have an account? Sign up here.

Click “Set Up Auto Pay” from your toolbar.

Enter your banking information and click “Continue”.

Choose how much you want automatically debited from your account each month – “Minimum Payment” or “Full Payment” – then click “Continue”.

Review your details and click “Submit” to enrol!
An authorized user is an additional user who can make charges on your account, but doesn’t have financial responsibility for the account. You can add an authorized user at no extra charge when you apply for the card, or after your account is approved. Please note that an authorized user must also be a Costco member.
